Lore & Background

After surviving being bisected through sheer hatred, Maul wandered the junk planet Lotho Minor in a feral state until found by his brother Savage Opress. Restored fully by Mother Talzin, he reclaimed his sanity to forge the Shadow Collective, an alliance of crime syndicates ruling the Outer Rim. Betrayed once more by Sidious, he spent years building an empire before being hunted down again. His final confrontation with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine revealed a tragic redemption; he sought not revenge, but peace, dying knowing that a new hope for the galaxy had been born.

In Their Own Story

The wind howled across the dunes of Tatooine, carrying the scent of heat and old blood. An ancient figure emerged from the shadows, his red skin faded and his eyes clouded with memories of a thousand battles. He held a lightsaber that hummed with a low, menacing thrum. Before him stood an old man, leaning on a staff, watching the sunset. "You are too late," the old man whispered. The horned warrior lowered his weapon, a strange calm settling over his face. "No," he replied, his voice raspy from disuse. "I am just in time to see it." With a final breath, the Sith Lord fell, his journey ending not in fire and rage, but in silence.

Reader's Guide

Designed by Darth Sidious to strike terror into the Jedi Order, Maul evolved from a silent assassin into a complex warlord. He mastered Form VII (Juyo), wielding a double-bladed lightsaber with terrifying speed and aggression that disoriented opponents. Beyond combat, he proved a cunning strategist, uniting disparate criminal factions under the Shadow Collective banner. His journey evolves from rage-driven vengeance to complex trauma; defining moments include slaying Qui-Gon Jinn on Naboo, his descent into feral madness, and his poignant death alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi.
